Mission statement

We are family, united in Christ; Holy Spirit empowered, to proclaim the reality of Jesus Christ to today’s world.

Why church?

Church is where God’s family come together to worship Him. It is where we can grow in knowledge and understanding of who God is and who He is calling us to be. It’s a place to learn from those who have walked further along the path of faith, and to encourage others who are fresh on their journey.

Church is also a place where you can come as you are.

You may be seeking to discover the truth and have big questions about life and meaning. There’s space here for you too. There’s room at our table.

Our values

At Mahurangi Hope Church we have three core values.

Loving Jesus

Dedicating all of our heart, soul and mind to loving our wonderful saviour Jesus Christ (Matthew 22:37).

Jesus is central to Christianity. The Bible calls Him the visible image of the invisible God. Loving Jesus is always transformational. As we pursue him with all we have we become like the one we love.

Loving People

Loving our neighbours as ourselves (Matthew 22:39).

Loving people is the outworking and overflow of the love of God in our lives. The Bible says that we cannot say we love God if we do not love the people around us. People are precious to Him and therefore the way we demonstrate our love towards others matters, both in our words and actions.

Loving Prayer

Rejoicing always and praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:16, 17).

We love prayer as it is our constant connection and communication with God. Prayer is where we begin to encounter the power of Jesus in our life. As we include Him in all parts of our lives He gives us all that we need to live a life of faith, righteousness and godliness.

Loving Jesus, Loving People, and Loving Prayer are essential building blocks when it comes to following Jesus. We believe that by pursuing excellence in these three areas we will make a lasting and powerful impact in the lives of those who call our church ‘home’ and for those yet to know Jesus personally, both here and abroad.
